COUACH SHIPYARD

Situated in Gujan-Mestras beside Bordeaux’s illustrious Bassin d’Arcachon, this distinguished world-class maritime sanctuary consolidates every essential space dedicated to naval excellence. Here reside masterful architecture studios, pioneering innovation laboratories, alongside dedicated bespoke manufacturing ateliers. Consequently, each elite superyacht and tactical defence vessel is exclusively conceived, refined, and handcrafted entirely within one prestigious, exacting sovereign environment.
Encircled by untouched shores, this aquatic haven mirrors a secluded inland ocean. It provides an unparalleled proving ground for maritime masterpieces. Absent any harbor for one hundred sixty kilometers northward or southward, a shifting, slender channel secures this pristine inlet, rendering every transit genuinely perilous. Such formidable waters perfectly calibrate hulls and systems prior to exacting open-ocean voyages.

KNOWLEDGE

From boat design to delivery, all production stages are carried out at the shipyard in Gujan-Mestras by Couach teams.
In 2019, Couach’s total on-site workforce amounted to more than 250 people. The Couach workforce includes 21 tradesmen, made up of a large panel of craftsmen.

COMPOSITES

The composite is a combination of two immiscible materials; the reinforcement and the matrix which, when combined together, have superior mechanical properties (lightness, rigidity…) The matrix used is polyester or epoxy resin and the reinforcements used are made of fibreglass, polyamide, carbon or Kevlar. In order for the resin to harden, a percentage of an additive called the hardener is added. “This chemical reaction called polymerisation will allow the fibre + resin assembly to become rigid.

TECHNOLOGY

In 2016, Couach created a R&D dpt. in order to work on new technologies. Recently we have developped new skills on CFD analysis and we have created a performance prediction tool. These advances have allowed us to develop better solutions and processes for our clients.
